Santa Fe Mountain Cattery
Maine Coons and Siberians, raised at 7,000 feet
About
We are a small, family-run cattery in the foothills of the Sangre de Cristo mountains, breeding Maine Coons since 2014 and Siberians since 2020. Our cats live in the house with us, two dogs and a very patient parrot, so every kitten is used to noise, visitors and being picked up long before they go home.
Every breeding cat is DNA tested for HCM, SMA and PKD and scanned for HCM by a cardiologist each year. Kittens go home at 13 weeks, spayed or neutered, microchipped, with two rounds of vaccines, a vet check and a two-year genetic health guarantee.
We would rather you visit than read about us. Come and meet the parents, by appointment, or join a video call from wherever you are.

Policies and FAQ
How do I reserve a kitten?
Message us about the kitten or the litter you are interested in and answer our questions. We then talk by video call, and once we are both happy we reserve the kitten for you here on Purry.
Do you take a deposit?
Yes, $400, only after a live video call and a signed contract that says when it is refundable. It comes off the price. We never take payment by gift card, crypto or wire transfer.
What health guarantee do you give?
Two years against genetic conditions, including HCM, with the parents' DNA and echo results shared before you reserve.
When do kittens go home?
At 13 weeks, spayed or neutered, microchipped and vaccinated twice, with a starter kit of the food they know.
Can you deliver?
Pickup in Santa Fe is best. We can also fly with your kitten in the cabin to most US airports for $450, never in cargo.
Do you sell with breeding rights?
Only to registered catteries we know, by separate agreement. Every other kitten goes home as a companion.

Lovely kitten and a very honest breeder. Pickup took a little longer than planned because of the vet schedule, but they kept us informed the whole time.

We drove down from Denver to meet the parents, which was the best decision. Clean, calm home, happy cats, and a clear contract. Galisteo is everything they said.

Thank you so much, Daniel! It was wonderful meeting you and your family. We're so happy Galisteo has found such a loving home. It means a lot to us that you made the trip from Denver, and we hope you'll keep us updated as he grows! ❤️
Ana answered every question I had, sent videos twice a week and walked us through Ortiz's echo results before we reserved. He came home confident and healthy, and he is the gentlest giant.

Reserve and message through Purry
Every conversation with Santa Fe Mountain Cattery happens on Purry, where it is kept, and where a reservation is recorded. Open a cat to ask to reserve, or message about one.
Never pay anything before you've seen the cat, on a live video call or in person. You pay the seller, never Purry: in person, or through a payment request in your Purry conversation.
